I am passionate about:
I am passionate about SURVIVAL most days. I had no idea how fast & easily a life can fall apart & how fragile the human spirit can be. I want to remind caregivers of their resourcefulness & capabilities through story, my book & my art. <3
A little known fact about me is:
My husband and I sold everything and live in a camper. My mission is to travel, hug caregivers, be present with them, listen to their story, encourage them, acknowledge their efforts, give them one of my books in the end... hug them.
"My motto is "chin up buttercup". I say it to caregivers all of the time."
My husband was diagnosed with BVFTD in 2012 & our life fell apart. He lost his job, had to stop driving & we claimed bankruptcy. Our future fell in shambles around us. I didn't handle it all well. I wore my heartache & frustration on my sleeve. Family members backed away which led to isolation & depression. Rather than give up, I've decided to create a mission designed to reach caregivers who may be experiencing a similar story. While my husband is still fairly functional, we are traveling the US, hugging caregivers, sharing our story & handing out my book - all on a teeny tiny budget.
Hello Amy, Thank you for your comments and I'm so happy that you found Dr. Sambo. It's interesting how life can spin out of control quickly, isn't it and it's so nice to discover nice people who are willing to help. Again, thanks so much for sharing your story. Warmly, Robin Albright
