Thanks James for your question. We do include the presence of hijra identities in cultural and religious narratives during our awareness workshops and it acts as a wonderful ice-breaker with the audience. However, we have also found it to be a double-edged sword when it comes to recognition of other trans-identities, especially trans-masculine identities since these narratives, so deeply embedded in our consciousness, dominate the conversations. Transmen remain largely obscure in these narratives and policy makers and society at large remain painfully unaware of their existence.

Our capacity building modules include advocacy skills, resource mobilisation, effective use of social media, dealing with media and shaping media narratives, effectively engaging with volunteers and designing events and campaigns.
