Hi Shaolin, There are many people that frequent the gym, which is why I feel this use of the Nike Grind materials would be best suited. It incorporates the material, involves sports and activities, and helps the environment with persistent reuse of products.
Hi Lauren. Thanks for the reply! Since this bag concept would incorporate much of the reusable rubber Grind materials, I would want to assemble pieces that would typically be made from fabrics first, to show that the idea is plausible with the most-used areas. Pieces such as straps and padding being made from "fluff" would be easier to show the value of recycled materials. For instance the leather could be finely 'fluffed' and used as the stuffing and padding for the shoulder straps.
The measurements, diagrams and blueprints, and machines could be used with various materials, which would cut down on overall production. Prototyping any product requires an upfront investment. While I do not have the funds to do so, I would work to create connections at the assembly plants to see if a prototype could be produced. With this, others would see the benefits of using the Grind material in this way, and hopefully create a more durable bag with reclaimed material.
