Ting Ting commented on SMS Sex Education Services

I was thinking something like this existed. Since texting is so prevalent these days, anywhere from texting your therapist to a dating coach, why not find the consumer on the platform he or she is most comfortable with?

I love this because we often think of sex education in a VACUUM, but conversations about sex and sexuality don't happen in isolation. They are part of bigger human processes and concepts: maturing, feeling desire, being a girl, being a boy, becoming a woman, becoming a man, getting older, getting more responsible, dealing with consequences, falling in and out of love, feeling happy/ecstatic/confused/terrified. When we address in a vacuum, it sterilizes the knowledge and decontextualizes it. Perhaps putting it into an associative space (like girls doing their nails and talking about girly things, one of which is sex), the knowledge will carry more weight, come across easier, and feel more personal and actionable. Would equivalent for boys be a video game parlor or some kind of male-dominated space (gym?) that is judgment-free, fun, and hospitable to this convo topic?
