With our partner stations, we stress the importance of accurate, compelling radio programs as a way to attract listeners and keep them -- ultimately, some may become advocates for the station -- as happened in Zambia on one of our projects. The listeners became fundraisers for the station. In other cases, the station, when producing a very good radio program, often finds it very easy to sell sponsorships or barter with the local telecom for internet or phone service at the station.
