Thanks, Bettina! Happy to share my experiences in hopes of helping others. Honestly, I've had Crohn's 12 years and always knew I wanted to be a mom someday, so I would just google and read whatever articles I could get my hands on. I had candid conversations in the year leading up to my wedding with my doctor's--everyone was aware of the game plan. I was never given an opportunity to connect with other mom's or women who were pregnant with Crohn's disease, I'm not sure anything like that exists. I had a team of doctors throughout the pregnancy--regular OB, high risk OB and my GI. Part of the reason I wrote so much about the experience on my blog was because I knew there weren't many places for women like me to hear firsthand experiences and wanted to provide insight that I would have liked to read prior to getting pregnant or when I was first getting pregnant, I've found the topic really resonates with my readers.
