Hi Kate, thanks for taking the time to read the LinkedIn article and provide feedback.

Two years ago I brought Vasilios Lambos on board, a super talented and business-driven ID-guy from Syracuse who is on the UX team at Red Ventures in Charlotte.

Currently we do not have patent protection.

Prototyping-wise, we began to design the product however due to the road-bumps I discussed in the LinkedIn article, we had to put prototyping on hold. We originally put effort into creating a conventional water bottle and then switched over to a stand-up pouch.

Nothing Water positions itself as the (would-be) first BPI-Certified Compostable stand-up water pouch. During our entry to market we brand ourselves as a truly environmentally friendly alternative which replaces the conventional water bottle. Last night I spoke with Benjamin Edgar who founded Boxed Water is Better — we view him and Just Water as indirect competitors since their products are made of laminated cardboard. Since their caps are both made of PET, they cannot achieve the "full compostability" and ASTM/BPI standards we are striving for. Vasilios and I decided when writing out our original Operating Agreement that we would never make produce our product unless it is truly compostable/biodegradable. We're not looking to "greenwash".
