Great idea! Youth with the need or desire to work while in school is typically hired for jobs with no correlation to career development. A program like this would help to connect youth to career exploration opportunities earlier. Have you given any thought to a "company" (as defined in your model) being a higher education institution? If this was an option, the youth involved in this program, can earn money, work experience and exposure to academics. The latter would likely have a positive impact in sending more youth down the path of higher education. Higher education institutions can also "recruit" from this pool of students and get work completed (to include research projects support) from these students for less.
