Growing up my father, who is an architect, taught me the importance of design and how it changed the way we interact with the world. When I was ten, I broke a few bones in my dominant hand and had to wear a cast for two months. This made it nearly impossible to hold a pen/pencil. One night I proposed an idea to make a pen that could slip over an index finger in order to write. The next day we went to his office and made it out of a bic pen, plastic battery packaging and a hot glue gun. Since then, I have been consumed by all things design.
Hi Lauren! I submitted both last night, all in the nick of time! Thank you so much for having me be apart of this competition and for all your and the rest of the IDEO communities help! I look forward to hearing the results and hope to be able to keep working on this project within this challenge.
