Kate Rushton (and @everybody_else) did you see National Geographic article from July 19, 2017 stating that 91% of plastic is NOT recycled?

That's... Just wow [and not in a good way, of course].

I truly hope we would be able to (at least!) start tackling those 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes discarded yearly. Getting rid of the plastic tubes packaging all together now seems... Like a viable approach. That is: if we really want to make a difference.

I sure do, Kate! The original idea, concept and ultimately - ToothPASTe project page is updated.

Now, isn't that something? When I was young[er] and the Internet access kind of just started to shift into the public domain, I had to walk 3 km just to reach the nearest modem. Even then, it was all worth it. And now? We can use our newest PCs, smartphones, tablets or whatever to exchange ideas and thoughts with ANYONE interested in participating in dialog. ANYTIME & ANYWHERE in this world. We can "bounce our ideas off" the most talented and respected experts. And we can get top quality feedback. I mean, the whole OpenIDEO platform does exactly that! This will never stop to amaze me. Not the technology itself (my field of expertise originally was ICT), but the whole concept of such collective-brain-ism. We humans managed to upscale our computational power on the level of the planet. We live in a age where @DeletedUser , Kate Rushton , David Vidaña , Angel Landeros , Cristina Faulkner and all the others (including yourself Brian Bauer ) can work together and inspire each other to do better. To make something meaningful. To make a difference. So let me answer my initial question myself. That is really... SOMETHING!
