Zhiyue commented on Paper straws

Hi Isabel,
I totally agreed your opinion. Sometimes, we are not unwilling to use paper straws, just because they bring us bad drinking experience.
I remember I have eaten a lollipop, which are produced by a Japanese company. The stick is made by paper. When I about to finish my lollipop, the paper scarp created by the paper stick was filled in my mouth. So I have to drop my lollipop. After that experience, I have never eat that brand's lollipop. I think the idea of company may want to reduce plastic waste, but it did create a bad customer eating experience. I don't know it is a good thing for environment or bad thing for that company at all...

Indeed, the paper straws could reduce the waste of plastic, but they are not as useful as plastic ones.
In fact, the paper straws could not be used as long as the plastic one, I means after several times sucking, the paper straws began to become pliable and create scarp.
And it would also cause paper waste. Maybe we could made straws by other kinds of sources, such as corns and bamboo.
In fact, I don't think paper straw is a good product. Because it may bring bad drinking experience to customers comparing with the plastic straws, that some companies and restaurants would not make them as first choice. Maybe we can produce something else made by paper instead of paper straws.
