Thanks hazel - Yes, I agree. Refilling stations are the key. With the rise of electric cars, we have a global network of petroleum filling stations that will need to be re-purposed. Why don't we rethink how they are used. For those not wanting to fill their containers, these refilling stations could be used as a distribution point with service providers taking refillable containers from neighbours or those who cannot drive (e.g. old age folk) so that we reduce packaging waste to zero.
The visits could be increased by repurposing the (re)filling station to become a station that allows folk to refill reusable containers for a discount.
If there is not enough footfall to make this business model viable, then there could be additional services such as drop boxes and luxury items that are only sold to people who have refillable containers.
