"Nothing about us without us"
The Welfare Society for the Disabled is a community-based disabled people’s organisation based in Kambia District, Sierra Leone, and comprised of over 300 members. It is registered with the relevant ministries. Its principal aim is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through the delivery of projects which focus on inclusive education, skills training and small-scale enterprise, advocacy and social protection. As a locally led and managed network, WESOFOD and its membership are able to provide a much needed perspective on the challenges faced by people with disabilities.
