"116 a friend for every child"
In 1997, a group of Zimbabwean women (known as the Soroptimists) established Childline Zimbabwe’s, child-friendly response service for children accessible any time of the day or week, to receive protection and emergency care. Childline Zimbabwe now has two call centres Harare and Bulawayo and answers about 600 000 calls annually and responds to child abuse, violence and exploitation through 26 drop in centres across the country.
