Hi Kate,
I appreciate your inquiries about goldIQ. I apologize for the delay in responding to you and recognize that the shortlist has already been established. Unfortunately, the OpenIDEO emails began being swept up in my junk mail and I did not receive this message until I signed on today.

This is a brief look at our timeline.
DEVELOPMENT/ADAPTATION PHASE: months 1-6
- curriculum adaptation
- onsite collaboration with 3-4 Quatere staff/volunteers and goldPE representatives; train the trainer
- curate local resources within goldPE network (potential funders, project reviewers, entrepreneur network, service providers)
PILOT PHASE: months 6-18
- run first set of cohorts with goldGrads (anticipate cohorts run for 6 months instead of typical 3 months)
- goal of 75-100 participants with capacity of 500 participants (number of current goldGrads)
- collect output and outcome metrics with all participants, both qualitative and quantitative data
EVALUATION: month 12; month 18
- analyze output and outcome metrics to determine areas of success and challenges
- compare data against macro data found in the South Africa Entrepreneurship Report created by the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (a Quatere partner and collaborator)
- collect meso level data (community level data) and track entrepreneurial growth and other vital community success metrics
- adapt curriculum, program design, recruitment, and network to compensate for underperformance
- acquire additional funding, if necessary, for expansion and scale
VOLUNTEER NETWORK DEVELOPMENT: months 6-18
- develop a virtual volunteer portal that will enable volunteers from all across the globe to engage with our entrepreneurs in the monthly or quarterly project reviews
EXPANSION/SCALE PHASE: months 18-36
- train goldIQ grads to replicate cohorts in all of goldPE sites
- launch cohorts in conjunction with all of the goldPE sites in Southern Africa
- goal of 1500-1800 participants within 3 years, with additional capacity upon introduction of Quatere's virtual cohort model that will launch in Fall 2017
- outcome goal: provide thousands of South African youth with the framework to create opportunities for themselves and transform their communities.
EVALUATION: month 36
- analyze output and outcome metrics to determine areas of success and challenges; compare against GEDI macro data
- adapt curriculum, program design, recruitment, and network to compensate for underperformance
- provide output/outcome metrics and micro/meso/macro level data to research team; collaborate on academic analysis
- seek follow-on funding

We appreciate your interest in our program. Although we won't be participating in the future Open IDEO rounds, we are hopeful to obtain funding to support this partnership.
