I am passionate about:
Maternal and child health in subsaharan Africa
A little known fact about me is:
As a youth, I was inspired to become a doctor by reading books about Dr. Tom Dooley, a physician who lived and worked in Laos and died very young of cancer.
Show my name on the attendees list for events I am attending:

"The purpose of life is a life with purpose."
Born and raised in rural North Dakota, my passion has been to help others, to empower them to better health. As a physician, now semi-retired, I am devoting my time to the people of the rural Tikonko Chiefdom in Sierra Leone. I feel a calling to work with them to achieve a better life and less suffering.
Yes! Thanks for your interest. The website is www.rhcimnsl.org. Health education and income generating activities are areas that we plan to include, but are not yet developed. The organization, Rural Health Care Initiative, also operates an Outreach Motorbike clinic that provides very basic health services to four remote villages once a month (every Friday to one of the four locations). This motorbike clinic is under-resourced and the need exists to expand beyond these four locations. The major health problem treated at the Motorbike clinics is malaria, which is a huge problem for pregnant women and young children.
