Hi Kate, This is a great question. Benetech understands that for most of our users, security is paramount; for human rights defenders, their data is their strongest asset and we employ a strong end-to-end encryption model in our Martus and secureApp platforms to ensure that information is secured at the point of entry and in the cloud as well. (We don't hold the keys to this user data, so if we are ever subpoenaed, the data we access would be encrypted and unreadable.) That said, the UPR data is all public, so while we protect it for the users while the submission is in process, once it is submitted, it is open and available with the UN. The awareness question is also a good one - by working with partners that already have robust networks in the space, we can reach more potential users at once. Plus, we are seeing how collaboration among potential respondents leads to organic growth, and is a key component of the platform - perhaps even more valuable than the "wizard" or walk-through aspect of the process.
