Final update: the designer has been officially hired and started working on the final design of the garment. Next week my team will be going to NY to the MD&M conference, looking to identify potential manufacturers for the product. Svetlana
Hi Kate, I want to thank you for the opportunity to share my idea on this forum.
After going through the process and reviewing all other ideas, I now believe my idea is the Most Viable. I already have a functional prototype. I have identified a designer with experience in designing shoes, who has consulted with the companies such as New Balance, Dockers, Timberland, Saucony, Reebok, as well as branding and manufacturing. So, I believe we are very close to having the garment available for pilot testing by the Clinical Panel, as well as starting a Kickstarter campaign (or something similar) to raise funds and pre-sell the garments to customers.
The incentives associated with the Award will, first and foremost, help me generate clinical data with a proof of concept that will add validity to the claim that our garment can reduce the risk of falls. The monetary portion will give us the necessary base to enlist professionals in every area necessary to make the overall project a success (i.e. marketing, branding, website developers).
Hi Kate, I contacted Joanna regarding IP (since I am in the process of applying for a patent for my product) and she had suggested I have a meeting with just your team to share more details regarding the design. I'm happy to do that. I had emailed her, but the first email bounced back and I tried again, but haven't heard back from her. Please let me know when you are available to speak.
