Rhonda is a 25 year old transplant in The Bay from Washington, DC. She is a college dropout and brilliant short story writer who wants to publish. She works full time in a community garden and commutes across the bridge daily, which is time and labor intensive. Though she doesn't see herself writing in the traditional academy, Rhonda has pieced together several writing communities where she connects weekly with like-minded writers. She appreciates the structure and support of group writing in particular, but does not see the point of pursuing a liberal arts education or nurturing her writing in the academy. She would like more motivation and space to develop her craft in a community with resources.
-She already has a small, published body of work without a manager or advisor -She is open to taking risks and making moves that are scary, like moving away, despite not wanting a typical college experience -Her value orientation potentially adds value to spaces she inhabits
