Director of Programs
Tanzania Bora Initiative
"Do it Now, Change the World!" inspires me to take the right course in my life."
Ismail has over 5 years’ experience on Governance, Democracy and Development Diplomacy. He has worked with Youth of United Nations Association-Tanzania to champion youth agenda in the UN. He has championed youths’ Consultation on Post 2015 Development Agenda, and their recommendations were incorporated in government’s consultation report for the SDGs making. His current role as a Director of Programs at Tanzania Bora Initiative is focused on Governance, Media, Arts and Innovation with focus on youth and women to promote accountability, responsiveness, transparency in governance and development
I like the approach used by this program to identify how weak structures for entrepreneurship and governance are one of the causes for youth unemployment in Tanzania. It would be ideal to see this program and see how contributes to bridging the two gaps. It is impressive to see that the project recognizes the realities of the geographical and organisational scales that are prevalent in the target areas. For a successful implementation, I recommend that effective arrangements to be developed on the two scales for more relevance and addressing of the needs.
