Hello Chioma Ume !
From our earliest pilots, we have treated KinoSol dehydrators as a tool for both women empowerment and youth.
Pilot Community Observations: Women within the Kamuli District of Uganda invest additional income back into their children, creating better opportunities for their education and upbringing. In our El Salvador field-testing, the youth (teens) saw the opportunity in KinoSol dehydrators for community sharing and potential at additional income. They are currently purchasing inputs such as plantains, dehydrating them, and then selling the preserved fruit for higher returns, as well as helping to collect data and feedback from within their local communities. This responsibility is both entrepreneurial and stops potential negative distractions.
Cheers,
Clayton
Hi Alan Hurt !
Thank you for having a look, and for the questions!
1. We're a Minnesota Specific Benefit Corporation. In true startup form, there are currently 4 of us who wear many hats to accomplish the goals and missions of KinoSol. We're heavily involved in marketing to churches, NGOs, and aid organizations who are based in the US but operate in developing areas at the moment. We have manufacturing and supply partnerships established here in Iowa.
2. With successful field-testing being completed over the past 15 months in numerous locations, we're content with where we started with a minimal viable product, and how we're now able to search for improvements directly related to feedback from end users and partners, unique to each country. In establishing partnerships, we have noticed that realistic time frames for conducing field-testing, feedback, and data collection vary greatly. This has caused us to try different approaches in different regions so that we're not waiting 3+ months for next steps. Ideally, we want to scale one country at a time; we just have to keep our options open for which country that will be. We have a great board of directors and advisers who are helping us with our core areas of focus.
3. Our website is consistently up-to-date at http://www.getkinosol.com/#savethethird, and you can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn :D
KinoSol and KinoSolAg.
Thank you again,
Clayton
