"I like to shimmy and shake, and flip and kick!"
I am a linguistic and medical anthropologist by training, a barista by profession, and a mover and shaker by choice!
I'm here to engage in discussions about how to make our daily lives and communities happier and healthier.
I am freshly out of graduate school (for anthropology), and am currently working as a barista. Although I love slinging coffee, I am looking to start my career with an innovative company. I am mainly interested in working in the health care sector (biomedical or alternative).
In my spare time I run, practice yoga, train capoeira, and cook up a storm!
Perhaps some middle ground would be to allow folks to choose an activity genre? For instance, you could choose "Outdoor activity", and be surprised with climbing, spelunking, hiking, etc.
The element of surprise is necessary to break the ice, and make it a fun adventure. But, most people are pretty comfortable in their habits. So what's a way of encouraging people to break through their shell?
