Sounds good. I'm interested in the overall idea of combining user digital tech with physical environments/experiences, especially in the Research and Evaluation of such as they relate to Health and Informal Education and I think this project is a good example. And yes, I'd be interested in keeping up with how the pilot goes. Questions, let me know. Thanks!
Hi Gabriela - Very interesting idea. In terms of research and evaluation, how will you know if it works and to what degree? You may already be looking into this through your pilot qualitative research but I'm wondering if you've defined impacts or measures of success? Thanks!
Thanks for your thoughts and feedback, Ngozi. Unfortunately, this gap widens further when there are significant cultural barriers between family and professional staff. One example may be simply trying to culturally define what constitutes proper "caregiving" or even what defines "caring" in such personal yet cold and highly structured environments. It may also be an issue that needs to be addressed at an industry-wide level before it can positively impact or even be considered at assisted living facilities. These are things that could be looked at and discovered through initial research and program testing but I'm optimistic that social gatherings in general foster the kind of relationship building and understanding opportunities that could also benefit the individuals in this context. Further thoughts and questions welcome!
