Amy commented on The center for foster families

Amanda as a former foster parent I like this idea! I am a part of a nonprofit called RAD Advocates and we work with many families that adopted from the foster care system and some who are still fostering. As an expert on Reactive Attachment Disorder I can see how CPS plays a role in contributing to the disorder of RAD by the number of placements and disruptions the children have to face, some of them unavoidable. The idea that the child has stability through child care and treatment professionals all in one place and work collectively together on the case is time saving and very beneficial. We work with families all over the U.S and provide them with resources. I hope your idea takes off, I would reefer foster families to your program especially if the treatment model is attachment and trauma informed care.
Good luck!

Abby I like your idea, I think this could be very powerful in many ways. Do you have a plan or ideas on how you could extend your idea to reach out to mothers who typically wouldn't reach out for support? I feel this idea could help decrease the number of children affected by developmental trauma resulting in Reactive Attachment Disorder. Typically parents who are in a state of mind to cause such degree of abuse and neglect to a child from drugs/alcohol, domestic violence, mental illness etc. do not have access to a program like this. If they did and they could utilize the parenting classes and support it may help with their parenting techniques. Especially if some of the classes are on brain development and the importance of attachment.
Best wishes to you on your journey,
Amy (a mom with a vision as well)

I hope to see all pediatricians administrating the ACEs test. I also think if obstetricians are administrating it to the mothers to be maybe more intervention can take place while the child is in utero.
Great work,
