SolarNetwork already has the capability to perform data logging for arbitrary sources, remote control and yes robust security is a core part of the platform. The part that needs to be added for your purposes will be the alerts I suspect...
You may also be interested in the related Open Source project for EV components then (relevant for battery monitoring etc). Although, there will be some changes required I'm sure for the Lithium Titanate cells. See http://tumanako.net
Hi Jonothan, rather than building another Open Source platform, have you considered leveraging an existing one? Check out http://solarnetwork.net, this platform is designed to support any inverter or charge controller etc. It already has interfaces to many of the well known brands. We would be happy to look at expanding it to work with Sun Pax and to help you get your own instance up and running (if that's what you want to do?).
We can also help with app development, but currently the only Open Source smart phone app we have created is for an Electric Vehicle dashboard (but it does have the ability to interface with SolarNetwork for switching EV charge stations on and off!).
