Nick Petten works between the social and private sectors in order to help businesses develop socially responsible practices where children and youth are a main customer and audience. He currently advises a number of companies on integrating academic research and human rights due diligence processes into business strategy and operations. His focus is helping to design and develop companies that respect and promote the well-being of children and youth, including their rights, participation and expression. Nick is an alumni of Ryerson University in their Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Studies program. His ongoing research focuses on a children's rights-based approach to public-private partnerships in an emerging, digitally-facilitated knowledge economy and corporate partnerships in the provision of international aid in education. During his studies, he also worked at Microsoft within a global education initiative and consulted senior-level executives on the integration of children's rights into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies.
