We at Birthlight have worked in maternity units that use Centering and sometimes this works well, sometimes not, it depends how the clinics are organised. Centering could be used more together with peer groups. We also have tried groups of dads (this worked well, run by a guy as a support group for men and their issues as men) and what we do now is to involve dads to be in pregnant partners' workshops (we also have same sex parters at times) and in newborns & parents nurture workshops that are very popular. Some parent-baby groups are open to mums and/or dads and also to families, mums bring their sisters, mothers and close friends.

Hi Lauren, I have just published our idea that has similarities with yours, I have done quite a bit of work in Latin American countries working with indigenous midwives and health workers around maternity, would you like to be part of our team? I would be delighted to be part of ours, it's good to know about your activities and ideas and to meet you through OpenIDEO, Francoise.

Hi Kate, yes of course a link to our website can be included
Thanks for highlighting the bits in my attachment as relevant, if there is a way of making this more visible, this would be great. Thank you very much for your support, Francoise.
