I am the e-Learning Fellow at the University of the South Pacific and strongly support this initiative. We are working with a number of partners to improve literacy through the use of ICTs. We recently conducted a regional training workshop on creating talking books (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuQNyrEsSOw&feature=youtu.be) and are deploying a number of offline solutions to the disadvantaged rural Pacific children who often have no books to read at all. A Digital Library of both story books and Open Education Resources for Pacific Children is high on our agenda to provide more resources to schools and children. In the Pacific, the cost of traditional publication and distribution of books is prohibitive, meaning many children miss out. Working with the MoToLi initiative is key to our success, especially in providing Mother Tounge resources, a proven way to improve literacy.
