Lauren commented on Boys II Men Nicaragua Style

For many years, we have been working with building relationships with our Life-Timers and Cadet. Having parents who are the disciplinarians along on the trip may cause more damage than support. If we find a parent that is active, and trying to be involved in her sons life, we may ask that parent to volunteer in various areas to determine the mom / son relationship and if the parent would be a good supporter for the cadet and the team as a whole. At one point in our history, we had discussed having college tours for parents and sons, but we never moved to the next level. For the most part, it is relationship that drives the success of our tours. Our college tours are the traditional 3 or 4 hour experience to help our young men, visualize attending college, graduating from college, and which type of college fits their personality.
