From a person who has seen the Clowns Without Borders volunteers in action, while working in Lesvos, Greece, I can tell you THIS WORKS. Bringing laughter to the stranded refugees when the world was quickly becoming apathetic and stone-hearted to their needs was worth more so much. The mission and value-added inputs by this organization which help improve mental and physical health through its network of international professional artists is remarkable. Let's get this innovation to more places and reach more people who are in crisis.
Hi Shane! Thanks for your great questions! We have piloted the program two times in the United States, in Texas. We worked with a children's shelter who cares for youth from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. We also ran several activities with children from the United States who also live at the shelter. Currently, we are working with an NGO in Nepal to implement the program in Kathmandu. We are conducting trainings with the staff and alumni via Skype, and are sending a small team to train them in person. We will help the NGO implement the Youth Empowerment program in the Kathmandu Valley. Thank you for sharing the link to the Lettuce Bee project!
