"Be like a lotus... Be grateful to the mud, water, air and the light (~Amit Ray)"
I am a hospice palliative care psychosocial clinician and educator constantly learning about the depth of love and value of life. I have had the privilege of caring for those facing a life-limiting illness for the past 17 years and have been at the bedside with thousands of families following diagnosis of a life-limiting illness and at end-of-life. In addition to providing interprofessional education in hospice palliative care, I recently launched my own community-based practice and facilitate storytelling and family-centred legacy projects to foster resiliency and empower grieving families.
Great idea Vibhu! Wonderful way to dissolve barriers and foster meaningful connections through unique experiences. Working in Hospice Palliative Care, seeing adults as young as 18 facing end-of-life, would suggest opening this up to everyone. In essence, a "Virtual Make a Wish"? Wonderful concept!
Thank you Mark. We want to raise awareness about Advance Care Planning, Hospice Palliative Care and proactive and informed choices regarding end of life - especially in light of pending national legislation regarding Medical Assistance in Dying.
