Aaron - I really like your idea and have thought that Universities need to be doing this for some time now. One idea I had that maybe you can incorporate into this is that I think students aren't exposed enough to different industries before entering college and therefore don't know what to major in or what classes to take. By the time they figure it out, they have often wasted many credits and need to go to Graduate School to get the right specialized experience. I think there should be an option after High School to take a 1 year program where all it is is a full co-op to give students exposure to 6+ different industries (Legal, Financial Services, Healthcare, Consulting Services, Education, etc.). At the end of that year with proper mentorship students would know much more about where they should apply, what they want to do and have a much better guided experience. Then a co-op program would be much more beneficial because they'd be aware of what industry or industries they want to focus on. I have lots more thoughts on this but this is just a highlight.
