Village HopeCore International
"Hope changes everything!"
Village HopeCore International (HopeCore) is a small, innovative 501(c)(k) non-profit organization, registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kenya and the United States, currently based in Chogoria, Eastern Kenya, and working in Chogoria and surrounding communities to alleviate poverty through microfinance loans and microenterprise, business training and support, health promotion, and disease prevention programs. HopeCore is dedicated to fostering integrated social and economic development in rural communities in Kenya and Africa.
Our Vision: HopeCore envisions a transformed, enabled, and empowered people of Kenya and the rest of Africa, who can respond to their personal, social, and economic challenges effectively.
Our work falls within the framework of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and Kenya’s Vision 2030. Our development philosophy is based on the belief that money alone cannot end the cycle of poverty.
We believe that poverty eradication should be approached around the vision of the “three-legged African stool of poverty eradication” – income generation, health intervention, and education.
Our Mission: Transforming lives through enterprise, health, and education
HopeCore’s health programs include: 72 school based health clinics, 25 Planned Parenthood Global partner schools, clean drinking water and hand washing tanks in 180 schools (WASH program), loan client health services, a static office clinic, sexual and reproductive health services, malaria prevention, deworming, and school-based, age-appropriate health education. We focus on integrated health approaches with special attention on prevention of common illnesses.
