I am a social worker, a human rights professional and now a social entrepreneur. Currently, I'm a founder and Chief Executive Officer at Linkages Consulting Ltd., a private social enterprise that helps companies and organisations to deliver on their social missions. Beyond my professional influence, I'm a member and current Chairperson of Malaika Women’s Investment Club Ltd in Uganda, a local business club that helps mid-career women professionals to achieve financial freedom through saving and investments. I'm a Rotarian and an active member of my local Rotary Club of Kampala North.
Hi Kathleen! Thanks very much for reaching out and sharing your work with me. I'm happy to know that your picked interest in my work. I just briefly visited your website and i can already see the connection of our work. Very interesting to know that children who are that young can get involved in business project. Meanwhile, the beekeeping idea is a fantastic one! At the time i carried out a needs assessment years ago for the Rotary club project that is currently being implemented in this community, beekeeping was one the projects that many wanted to. But somehow the funds were limited to cater for all the areas of need. So we decided to put it on hold for another time. So yes. its one of these good projects that i will encourage the community to take up.
Regarding the project ideas, i wouldn't be able to tell what exactly they will be because of the approach we are using. For this very program, i want people to think and come up with their own projects they feel they can run and manage on their own. Here i want to create more ownership and responsibility such that i will not have to run after them to implement these project. I want them to be able to 'run' after me because they need either technical support or other forms of support that can help their business to grow. However from the experience i have had with this particular community, agriculture is going the big thing, because everyone depends on it for literally everything. I'm looking forward to get project ideas. And may thats when i will share with you in detail.
Otherwise it would be nice if we can find some areas of collaboration or spaces we can share experiences. Again, thank you very much Kathleen for reaching out. My very best regards.
