Thank you for the connection to Home away from Home. It's a great Idea and I'll reach out to learn more. I've definitely seen some of the resources you pointed to. I'm curious to understand what areas of the international student experiences they typically serve? - Some orgs focus more around the paperwork and visa issues - Some focus on social activities and networking. - What about helping students adjust to the American style of education which sometimes is very different to their own. We're hoping to develop some interesting insights our of our surveys after which we plan to come up with one or 2 ideas to prototype!
agree that one of the challenges today is getting the right information to communities that can potentially stop the spread of diseases such as Zika. I do feel that in the case of Zika, the social/mainstream media has done a decent job in communicating the threats once they became well known in some of the host countries. What I will say to your point is that there was less awareness from the beginning about Zika that led to the initial outbreaks. So I guess the question is how can we use social media to understand and communicate emerging threats before they turn into outbreaks. Thats definitely a tough question to answer Minh Nguyen any thoughts?
