Hi Sarah, thanks for the feedback. I strongly believe that the education system today is really outmoded. Too much emphasis is placed on the certificate rather than competence and capacity to offer real solutions to real problems. The solution I am proposing hopefully offers a pragmatic solution suited for the realities of remote villages where access to schools is also a challenge in "normal" times.
Hi Rachel, thanks for the feedback. No I haven't had the opportunity to share my idea with local authorities. We are in a rather strict lock down. Unfortunately I haven't come across a local online forum interested in ideas from the private sector. I however have privately shared this idea with my mother who is now a retired teacher having taught for about 5 decades. The idea in my opinion would work well considering the educational and financial levels of our people in remote villages in Uganda. A "mass education session" suggests that all villagers would inevitably join into the learning sessions since the timetable would be known and it would be on loudspeakers covering several homesteads. It may have the resultant benefit of adult literacy as well.
