I am a graduate of public health in disasters MPH and Biology and Psychology, I am interested in improving access to health by understanding the cultural and social factors that deter people from using health or practising risky health behaviours.
So say your a healthcare worker going to a country to set up a condom use scheme or copper IUD contraception scheme and you know the community your going to are not used to these kind of discussions, so you check the web platform I want to create, and you see that a HCP who has been working in the area you are going to has been saying a certain phrase which has led to people using condoms or the health services then this should be shared (data should be accumulated on the platform) so more people say the right things.
The information will be shared by users having a membership to the database. Its not a discussion, its just people saying what they have done and what has worked or what is working. It will start as specific topics, for example maternal health in Village X in India and then a list of all the health phrases that healthcare workers are using that get people to use the services. I don't think the information necessarily needs to guide policy makers or ministers of health as that adds a layer of bureaucracy. Its intended to make non governmental organisations that operate autonomously without political bias more effective in the health services they create. The information isn't meant to be scientific evidence and its not meant to be analysed, the concept is that it is the words of the community. Unedited, not analysed and in the language of the community members. I want to avoid disengaging community members by adding layers of analysis which misinterpret the meaning.
