This is very interesting. Reading this made me think "why don't we take it yet a step further"? It doesn't make sense that multiple degrees take the same amount of time. For example, why does a degree in political science take the exact same amount of time as computer science? What if we structured it to allow students to mix and match what they wanted to take and what the wanted to get out of their educational experiences? That way, some students could take 2 years if they really wanted to, and yet others could take 5 years if they wanted to dive deep into a subject.
I think that personalized learning means that you are now able to get varying degrees based upon what you want to learn, so that your skills are much more easily quantifiable than simply you have or don't have a degree.
