Having been involved with introducing a pilot Phonics programme to a group of kindergarten teachers in Ghana I am impressed by this idea of making phonics directly available to all via the mobile phone . Apart from inroducing phonics, a basic building block of learning to read, to new learners this programme would provide those who have been given training the opportunity to reinforce and refresh their skills at any time via their mobile phone. Being able to hear, repeatedly, the correct pronunciation of letter sounds will greatly enhance the effectiveness of all current conventional training being offered.
