I am passionate about:
helping people find and tell stories that fuel meaningful lives and collaborative social justice
A little known fact about me is:
Show my name on the attendees list for events I am attending:
Storytelling teacher and facilitator
"Experience is the best teacher, story is second best."
I started studying psychology when I was 13 and never stopped. International business and a keen eye for actions that didn't match words led to my first book "Territorial Games" and "A Safe Place for Dangerous Truth." A masters in adult ed/psych and decade teaching leadership proved to me that stories control what we believe and therefore, what we do. In 2000, I wrote The Story Factor in 2007 "Whoever Tells the Best Story Wins" that was revised into a 2nd edition in 2015. I now use UX design frameworks to teach storytelling (and vice versa).
My friends created a great slideshow and had 75 people show up but only ONE PERSON took a photo! I'm working on it. I want them to post it on slideshare and we have an event on Wednesday to write letters - I think it is coordinated with 350.org. I may organize a local storytelling/video workshop for locals. I've written a bit about storytelling and have some friends who produce documentaries. I like the muse course on video storytelling but I think we need something more basic - for iPhones I've taken Joe Lambert's course (center for digital storytelling) but it's more about expressing than it is about creating something persuasive. We need a short course seeded with info on how to be persuasive.
