"Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss you'll land with the stars."
I grew up in North Carolina, Thailand, and Detroit - honeysuckle, elephants, and Motown. I decided to be a biology teacher, earned a teaching degree from UVA, but couldn't find a job, so I joined Peace Corps to teach science in Kenya. There I watched as 10,000 agricultural families wiped out forests and wild grasslands to cultivate and settle on the Laikipia Plateau. Decided to study human-dimensions of wildlife conservation at Yale (Masters), and have worked on nature conservation ever since.

Hi Chris Lowe ! What an inspiring project that creates a community of empowered youth that help each other out to be creative problem solvers. I am curious to what specifically encouraged you to have a special focus on girls? This is powerful! Good luck, Carrie (part of Dusti Becker 's team)
Hi Hendrikje Meyvis ! What a fascinating intersection bridging a rich cultural artisan heritage with collaborative social entrepreneurship. I am curious, if you envision scaling this project in the future to serve other indigenous communities?
