Hi Ashley. I plan work with NGOs and sponsors who will fund this project. Still looking for people/organizations that would like to work with me. The government could also play an active role when it comes to distribution as they have a larger personnel and infrastructure especially when it comes to marginalized areas of the country.
When it comes to stigma. I have found out that it is caused by the fear of the unknown. Since all these women have known are pads and tampons introducing something new becomes a challenge. (That's why we need to focus on first time menustrators and teenagers) This is largely caused by not getting full information on to how the cup is used and its benefits. This is where the government and NGOs can really come in to sensitize the public. Its all psychological. I now have more than 30 active users and the number is growing. Most of them say they can't believe how scared they were the first time they heard of it. Now they can't imagine their period without it. Also my most reponsive age is 20-39 I find they are more willing to try new things. Hope this answers your question... ?
Hi Eunice. Two simple ways. The recommended one is boiling in hot water for 2-5min.Same way you would sterilize a baby bottle. (Same kind of silicon btw) second. You can soak it in hot water mixed with a sterlilzer/disinfectant for 10 min. Miltons, dettol, savlon etc. Hope that answers your question?
