This is a great project! After spending 2-weeks in India and seeing the implications of climate change and competing needs for water resources in the context of agriculture and salt farming, this type of framework is sorely needed. The issue of community engagement came up many times during that trip (and the often times disconnect between community needs and government intervention) which led us to explore the impact of social learning. Your approach is a great path towards collaboration among the various stakeholders. I would love to keep up to date on this work as it progresses! Thanks.
Natalie LeRoy and team - great post. Citizen science and water are an interesting combination. I spent time in January with a few folks in India who were exploring similar ideas. I am curious how you monetize a solution like this without significant reliance on third party donations. This is high value to our entire water ecosystem and could provide us with data that we did not have access to before. Great idea! Looking forward to seeing how you move forward!
Liang Guo Groundwater monitoring is of growing concern here in California. Would love to discuss how we might be able to partner on the work we are doing here. I think there are major opportunities with the new groundwater rules. Is your technology LoRa, cell or other way automatically connected?
