Cheryl commented on Music at the End of Life: Songs for the Dying

Wow, great graphics to amplify your idea!! And again, beautiful, simple idea. I've been writing a little music for some arts and grief workshops I'm leading and it feels so good to do. Although the musicians might think they are (only) offering service, I'm sure they would end up feeling they got as much as they gave!

Thanks for this, Bettina. I've added some thoughts as a comment in attached to the Amplify image. Here's some more. The experience I had with my friend when she was dying and I had a baby was very deep and illuminating. It also allowed me to stay at home with my daughter a little longer while making a bit of money. In the Experience Map I talked about the necessity of a clear agreement between parties (possibly supported by legal aid or a volunteer attorney) which would spell out how long the family would have to move or find another match when the elder died. I also see it going the other direction; a young family might have a room which could be occupied by an elder during their final days. All of this will get fleshed out in the next phase. Thank you for your comment!!

Marsha, thank you for your enthusiasm! That sounds like a natural fit- I'll look into what there is in my area for a start. I have also been in contact with a wing of the village movement where people of all ages support those who are in the end portion of their lives. For a starter, I'd like to beta test just a few connections and see what they encounter as they navigate forming the relationships.
