One problem that I have found while doing more research is how to motivate students to truly utilize online resources when there is no one there to push them and keep students on task like in the formal classroom setting
Interesting point Cristin. My belief is that if you are attending school to receive education there is a huge value to a core education. To be successful in any field, being worldly is mandatory. A similar argument could be made that Engineers do not need to take writing courses, however, this is also not true. To be able to effectively communicate is key to allowing others to understand research and take away positives from it.
Now, I do think that bringing back the popularity of forgoing University in order to receive apprenticeships and truly be trained on a skill is important and a solution to the problem of so many University graduates being unable to find a job. I am interested in your thoughts, Cristin.
Cristin, I appreciate your feedback. However, this model is aimed at those who would receive no benefits at all without this online university. Although the brick and mortar method is definitely better, this provides those in areas where receiving more education is not possible a chance. Perhaps, if they are able to develop ways to link students to have communication it could be very beneficial in creating networks.
