College is difficult to pay for, but being an adult learner, you find inventive ways to pay for it. I have been fortunate that some of my employers have paid for a portion of my tuition, but at 50 years old, I am still $40,000 in debt and now make monthly payments to finish paying for it. I started a college fund for my son, and he has enough money to pay for a full year at a University or several years at a community college. Yes, our divorce was messy, but my kids education has always been a priority and that money sits patiently waiting for him to decide when he wants to talk about college. Sometimes parents don't want to push to hard expecting their kids to go to college just because they did. I think my son knows that I want him to go and I will spend weekend after weekend visiting schools that he is interested in. Even his older brothers who are both college students haven't had to struggle with the expense of college alone. It's expensive, but there is never a day that I regret the money spent on my education. I hope he knows that money is NO object when it comes to his future!
