I think the best way to tackle this issue would be to take a more proactive approach in planning ahead. I feel it may be difficult now to tackle this issue for those in this demographic after they've reached a certain age; however, for the younger demographic it would be much easier to provide either government educational programs or some other method to teach the younger people how they can save their money for later on in life. Beyond this, there may be a way to somehow help those who are already a part of this demographic by providing some kind of informational programs to teach the elderly about how they can most effectively invest their money.
I think your idea to leverage technology in helping plan for retirement is a great idea that could be extremely effective. What specific ideas did you have in mind as far as specifically how this planning would take place? Would they utilize an application, or were you thinking more specialized government programs?
I thought your post was really relatable. I interviewed my grandfather and found that his dreams for retirement aligned well with what you mentioned in the post. Do you think there's some way to get people to plan for these things early on?
