With the advent of the internet of things our built environment is learning to speak. This data can tell us a story about how to improve resource use in cities and buildings. It can revitalize cities by galvanizing investment into distressed assets.

Great stuff. I am curious whether you looked at Ushahidi's SwiftRiver tool at all? https://github.com/ushahidi/SwiftRiver or at http://next.swiftapp.com/

Do you pull from the firehose or from the free Twitter API?

Nat commented on Revitalization Through Alleys

Melbourne Australia has a vibrant alley-way scene that has helped propel them to being rated as the city with the best quality-of-life in the world.

I have also been reading a lot about Runa and have been very impressed with their social enterprise model and merger of indigenous agriculture knowledge, business model, and agroforestry methods. The indigenous source of the business is well represented in the product as well.

I read that Runa also pays an additional 15% to social premium funds used by the farmer association to implement social development programs. I like that their is a clear financial structure to support the social work as well.

Seem the Ecuadorian government sees the merits as well, which could be a good source of inspiration for QLD. Check out this article on the Ecuadorian Government's support of Runa.
