Hi James,

Thank you for sharing Jackson's talk, it is very powerful.

In addition to questioning the use of language in a really compelling and intelligent way, he also engages men in the conversation by using language that inspires them to action -> LEADERSHIP. This reframing is simple but incredibly effective.

Jackson also addresses in this video the root cause of the problem, the education and socialization of boys.
“The argument that “boys will be boys” actually carries the profoundly anti-male implication that we should expect bad behavior from boys and men. The assumption is that they are somehow not capable of acting appropriately, or treating girls and women with respect.” – Jackson Katz

Here are a few other resources that have been very effective in promoting online debate within parenting communities.

“If it would destroy a 10 year old boy to be called a girl, what are we teaching him about girls?” – Tony Porter http://www.ted.com/talks/tony_porter_a_call_to_men.html
