With self-insured plans, the employer actually ends up insuring employees (and their poor habits). If we can draw a clear connection between good employee health habits to a positive employer financial performance everyone wins (and lives well!)
Great stuff. The loss of control (both over your own self, as well as your environment) is so powerful. It likely invokes more self defense mechanisms that inhibit sociability -- which may otherwise be inherent. To have a care provision system - that can permeate through this - by offering flexibility and empathy would be an extremely powerful tool.
